We have an immediate opening for a Director of Engineering and Product Development.

The successful candidate will be:

• Responsible for new product development, engineering support, and process improvement;
• Experienced with strong polymer materials. thermoplastic composites, adhesives, and coatings;
• Able to design, construct, and evaluate new sandwich panels for transportation industries;
• Experiences with extrusion and lamination processes and the related plant equipment;
• Proficient in problem solving skills as they relate to the thermoplastic composite manufacturing operation;
• Responsible for selection and specification of engineering materials;
• Able to provide manufacturing support to increase run speeds and improve productivity as part of cost saving goals;
• Available to provide technical support for sales/marketing;
• working with equipment suppliers for design, installation, and costing of process equipment;
• responsible to set up an in-house test lab for new product development and QC testing.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS in Chemical Engineering;
• 10 + years experience in design and/or operations of extrusion, material specification in thermoplastics and adhesives.
  

Additional Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; providing effective communication to internal team members as well as external customers and contractors;
• Continuous Lamination, sandwich construction, and machine design experience;
• Ability to travel less than 10% (domestic and international); this will increase with experience and responsibility.
